West Texas and the Big Bend region are among my most favorite places.
Thankfully it all remains empty and uncrowded. It is not an easy place to get to.
You really have to *want* to come to this remote area of Texas; and then figure out the logistics of getting around and then surviving/dealing with the realities of the topography, the culture, and the food options.
There are some modern urban-like creature comforts, but they are very few and far between. And I like it that way.
And why not? Maybe it's because I'm a native Texan. Or maybe because it is just a plain stunning place to visit and be consistently inspired by the unrestrained and resplendent landscape, flora and fauna.
I plan on returning and spending more time photographing this special corner of Texas.
